UPDATE : It seems the Amazon leak was wrong and New Dawn actually launches on February 15th!
Earlier today, the next entry in the Far Cry franchise leaked. Titled New Dawn and given the cover art, it seems to be a direct continuation of Far Cry 5.
We now know that the title will retail for $39.99 and officially launches February 15th. Here are the details according to the Amazon listing:
- Fight to survive in a post-apocalyptic world as you take up arms to fight alongside a friend in online co-op.
- Lead the fight against the highwaymen and their ruthless leaders, the Twins.
- Build up your home base and recruit specialists to upgrade it as you unlock all-new features.
- Battle your enemies for resources in Hope County and around the country as you venture to new locations.
Our Take
At first glance, this looks very similar to what we saw out of Primal. We have a gut feeling that the majority of Far Cry 5 has been repurposed and this will be more of a glorified expansion than a full new entry (which the price point seems to indicate as well). That said, if you enjoyed Far Cry 5, then we’re sure you’ll enjoy heading back to Hope County for a new story!
