One of the best surprises of the year has been Kingdom Come Deliverance. While it faced its fair share of bugs and challenges at launch, Warhorse Studios has continued to update and improve the game which offers a tremendously unique experience in today’s market. Our own Porshapwr has played the game extensively and you can read his prior impressions here.
While Warhorse is still developing new content for the title, it was confirmed today that they are in the planning stages for a sequel! According to a post on the KCD forums from a community manager, while its a few years away, a sequel is planned and should continue Henry’s story directly.
Yes, this is true. WH focus still relies on Kingdom Come: Deliverance and its DLCs.
The whole team is working on it, but we also have already plans for KCD2, and Daniel is indeed not scouting for a map expansion for a DLC, but he is already thinking about where to go next.
Nothing is set in stone so far about the next KCD game, which will come out in a couple of years from now, this is just a small task force of Warhorse members planing ahead as a side-task while the core of the team is working on DLCs and Bugfixes. There are no assets, no gameplay mechanics or anything existing of KCD2 yet, and nobody is working on it so far.
The full fledged development of KCD2 can start after the release of the last DLC A Womans lot and modding support for KCD.

Kingdom Come Deliverance has been a nice surprise as we noted and Porshapwr has it on his list of his favorite games of 2018. It’s great to see the small studio having success with the title and we’re certainly interested in a sequel. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more!
