Thanks to Microsoft’s announcement at E3 and continued chatter throughout the industry of their new commitment to first party, we know that Playground Games is one of the studios responsible for new AAA IP development.
That information was cemented earlier this morning when it was found that Playground has listed 177 open positions on Linkedin as reported on by Gearnuke. Presumably this means that Playground Games will be working on potentially three projects in the future, or they are staffing up tremendously for the long-rumored “open world RPG” they’ve been developing.
Our Take
After the news of Telltale and Capcom Vancouver, we needed this positivity. It’s great to see game development expanding especially within a studio that has proven their pedigree over the past several years. We can’t wait to see what they develop next!
