Well this is getting interesting. Rumors are swirling right now (to remind, we only comment on rumors when we trust our sources) that Microsoft is set to unveil a new subscription service titled “Xbox All Access”.  The plan will offer a consumer an Xbox One S with 2 years of Xbox Live and Xbox Game Pass for one low monthly fee that totals less than the cost of buying all three. Apparently, you can spend slightly more per month and upgrade to an Xbox One X as well.

There’s still a lot to come from Gamescom so we’ll keep you updated as we learn/solidify more details!

Our Take

This is certainly interesting. When you combine it with the rumor that Microsoft will offer a purely digital version of the next Xbox, you start to see where they are going with their plans to game as a service. We’re pretty vocal about our love for hardware and hard copies here at SG, so as long as Microsoft continues to offer us options, we think it’s a good idea. More options is better for all of us!
