Nintendo Switch Approaching 20 Million Units Sold

Aces

Nintendo reported on their 2nd quarter results yesterday and we now know that as of June 30th, the Nintendo Switch had sold through 19.67 million units. This very likely means that the console has now sold 20 million units though we don’t have official confirmation from Nintendo on the milestone just yet.

Our Take

The Switch continues to do very well in the market place though we do believe that the fascination has mostly worn off at this point. As we’ve discussed in some of our Bitcasts, we’re curious to see how the console progresses as the next generation approaches and it becomes even more outdated from a hardware perspective. Regardless, we are very happy to see the increased 3rd party support for the console and hope that Nintendo delivers big with new entries in their core franchises like Metroid Prime 4.
