Avalanche Studios, the development team behind the Just Cause series and the upcoming Rage 2, has just announced a new IP. Titled “Generation Zero” and releasing for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC in 2019, it is described as follows:
Experience an explosive game of cat and mouse set in a vast open world. In this reimagining of 1980’s Sweden hostile machines have invaded the serene countryside, and you need to fight back!
Go it alone, or team-up with up to three of your friends in seamless co-op multiplayer. By utilizing battle tested guerilla tactics, you’ll be able to lure, cripple, or destroy enemies in intense, creative sandbox skirmishes.
Our Take
We’re liking these pre-E3 announcements. With Avalanche already developing Rage 2, we’re kind of surprised to see a new IP from them so soon. But we’re not complaining as the premise seems solid and 4 player co-op titles with mechs are always welcome! We’ll update you as soon as we know more details.
