In a surprise announcement on a Sunday evening, Nintendo of America announced that the NES Classic Edition would return to stores on June 29th for $59.99. Additionally, they stated that both the NES and SNES Classics would be available through the end of the year.
While this is good news for those looking for the Classic Editions still, we can’t help but be a little cynical given this news arriving a week after Nintendo said that Virtual Console is dead and would not be coming to the Switch. We have to think the two are related and frankly, that is not a good look for the company in our opinion.
