Anthem to Launch in March 2019

As happens to be the case rather frequently, release windows are not unveiled when the publisher officially announces them to the public. Rather, they are unveiled when publishers share their studio(s) development and release schedules with shareholders.

During Electronic Art’s financial conference call, CFO Blake Jorgensen further clarified the known “4th quarter of fiscal year 2019” release window by announcing that Anthem would launch in the final month of the quarter. That of course means that the title will launch in March of 2019. Jorgensen also stated that their outlook for the title is “conservative” due to it being a new IP but no further information was provided.

With E3 and EA Play 2018 merely a month away, we thankfully won’t need to wait much longer to get a look at Anthem gameplay!

Our Take

As we’ve seen over the past couple of years, major titles launch throughout the year now so it’s no surprise that Anthem will be arriving in March at the end of the fiscal year for EA. And given that it’s the final month of the fiscal year, we have to imagine the team at Bioware will be working overtime as a delay is likely out of the question. As with nearly everyone else, we love what we’ve seen so far but there are still many unanswered questions. We’ll be hopefully answering many of them with our E3 coverage next month!
