James Cooper, Lead Game Designer at Naughty Dog, has left the company to join Insomniac Games. While personnel changes occur regularly throughout the industry, it’s a little more significant to see a lead game designer from a first party studio depart for an independent studio. James announced the news on Twitter:
Very excited to join the amazing team @insomniacgames on #SpiderMan! pic.twitter.com/k2P6zRo12L

Our Take
We like to stay up to date on development studios across the industry particularly with regard to key personnel. Cooper takes a lot of excellent experience with him to Insomniac and given the impending release of what could likely be the biggest title Insomniac has ever released, the timing seemingly couldn’t be better. We wish James the best of luck in his new role.
