We finally have confirmation of when PUBG will release on the Xbox One. December 12th is the official date and just like on PC, it will release in the Game Preview program for $29.99.
The game will be available at retail as well, a first for a title in the Game Preview program. HDR support has been confirmed for launch with a larger Xbox One X update coming in early 2018 that will include 4K support.
Most peculiar, is that the phrasing around the game has changed to “Console Exclusive” which even appears on the box art. What this means for the future of PUBG possibly arriving on the PS4 we don’t know at this point.
Our Take
PUBG is the biggest hit in the industry right now and this will be a huge release for Microsoft later this year, especially if they can enhance the game for Xbox One X shortly after launch. As for it being console exclusive, we’ll share more information as we learn it for those hoping to see the game on PS4.
