Monolith Executive Producer Immortalized in Shadow of War

Monolith Executive Producer, Michael Forgey, died last year from a brain tumor at just 43 years old. Sadly, he left behind a wife and three children. Beyond being a family man and an Executive Producer at Monolith, he also was a guitarist for a band comprised of Monolith employees titled “Orc Slayer”.

Thus, to honor Michael, a character named Forthog Orc-Slayer will be available as DLC in Shadow of War and when installed, will sometimes appear during battle and kill your enemies with a guitar axe. The DLC will be priced at $3.99 and $3.50 of each purchase (likely all of the profit) will be donated to Michael’s family through the end of 2019. You can find the trailer for Forthog below and an interview with a few other Monolith employees regarding the decision (begins at 5:34 of the video which is an excerpt from a live stream).

Our Take

As we love to see, the game community comes through when it counts. We simply love this decision by Monolith and will not only be supporting the DLC independently, but will likely purchase a few codes for fans of SG. Bravo Monolith and best wishes to the Forgey family.
