Xbox One X Pre-Orders Well Beyond Expectations According to Microsoft

As we covered in our Gamescom Xbox event article, the Xbox One X went up for pre-order directly after Microsoft’s conference. And according to all sources, it is performing significantly above Microsoft’s internal projections.

Speaking at Gamescom, Aaron Greenberg stated that they expected the online inventory to last a week but instead, it didn’t even last a day. In fact, Amazon was sold out in less than 30 minutes and other major sites soon followed.  As far as we can tell, it’s sold out everywhere for the time being with Microsoft simply stating that they will “make as many as possible” for the November 7th launch.

Our Take

As Porshapwr noted in his article on the Xbox One X being a bargain at $500 (which you can find here. ), this isn’t a huge surprise to us. The Xbox One X represents a very attractive package for the price with over 110 games already announced as being upgraded for the system. Combine that with the PUBG announcement at Gamescom and the limited Project Scorpio edition, and we can see it continuing to sell well going forward.
