Spotify Confirmed to be Coming to Xbox One

After a week or two of rumors and leaks pointing to Spotify arriving on the Xbox One, we now have actual screenshots of the application running on the system. According to Windows Central, the application is not a UWP version of Spotify but rather an HTML-based app optimized for TVs. However, it will still offer the capability to be played in the background which is the key feature for console users. You can find the screenshots Windows Central offered below.

Our Take

Many Xbox owners have had Spotify on their wish list for some time now so it’s good to see it finally arriving. It looks very similar in design to Soundcloud and the ability to control it via the sidebar is an excellent feature we’re glad to see present. As soon as it goes live for all users, we will let you know!
