Ninja Theory announced this morning that their award-winning Hellblade 2 will launch on PlayStation 5 this summer. We reviewed it last year and praised it heavily as being “…memorable for what it presents.” The updated edition will also release with updates and enhancements for all editions alongside a further “enhanced” version for the PlayStation 5 Pro.
The official announcement was made on their site where they state the following:
At Ninja Theory we have a rich heritage of releasing games on PlayStation, starting with Heavenly Sword back in 2007. If you’re familiar with our history, you’ll know that Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice was originally released on PlayStation 4 back in 2017. Developed by a small, passionate team, it resonated with so many of you, the players.
We released the next chapter of Senua’s story a year ago today, and we know there are many of you who haven’t had the opportunity to experience that next chapter for yourselves. Today we’re excited to announce that we will be releasing Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II on PlayStation 5 this summer.
Over the past few months, we’ve been working hard to fully optimise Hellblade II for PS5 and PS5 Pro, to give you the very best experience we can. This version of the game will include some additional new features, which will also be released at the same time as a free update for players on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox PC and Steam.
We’ll have more information to come soon, but for now we hope you can join us in celebrating Senua’s return to PlayStation. Stay tuned to our social media channels and wish list the game now on the PlayStation Store for future updates.
For now you can wishlist the title via the PlayStation Store and find the announcement trailer for the PS5 version below.
