Publishers Working with IGN to Coordinate Digital Gaming Event in June

With E3 cancelled, major publishers are working to find ways to share information about their upcoming titles with players around the world.

Today, IGN announced they are collaborating with several major publishers on an event in June titled “Summer of Gaming”. The publishers include 2K, Square Enix, SEGA, Bandai Namco, Amazon, Google Stadia, Twitter, Devolver Digital, THQ Nordic, and more.

Peer Schneider, Chief Content and Product Officer for IGN, said the following in a statement:

With the next generation of console gaming kicking off later this year and gamers eager to learn more about what games they’ll be playing on their new hardware, our online event will be a key moment for publishers and developers to connect with the audience worldwide.

More details will be shared in the next few weeks IGN said along with more publisher announcements.

Our Take

While we would have preferred to hear from the publishers directly, we’re happy to see that planning for digital events are underway. We certainly plan to partake in E3-like festivities in early June!
