Mortal Kombat is returning and sooner than we think. After franchise co-creator Ed Boon teased earlier this week, Mortal Kombat 1 is koming soon and it looks to completely refresh the series. It will launch on PC, Xbox Series X / S, PS5, and the Switch on September 19th. Details we know include:
- A new universe in the story as created by Fire God Liu Kang.
- It will feature a new fighting system, game modes, fatalities/finishers, and more. It will continue the trend of having an immersive campaign.
- It will also feature crossplay and cross-progression though according to the game’s main site those will come post-launch.
