PlayStation Formally Unveils PS VR2 for the PS5

VR is seeing a major surge in the industry right now, and PlayStation has their sights set on being in the conversation with their next-generation VR unit; the PS VR2 for the PlayStation 5.

Unveiled this evening at the 2022 CES, Sony’s PlayStation VR2 is a huge step forward in tech when compared to the initial PS VR offering for the PS4. As reported by the PlayStation Blog:

PlayStation VR2 takes VR gaming to a whole new level, enabling a greater sense of presence and allowing players to escape into game worlds like never before. With the headset on and controllers in hand, players will feel a heightened range of sensations unlike any other – thanks to the creativity of the game worlds being built by our world class developers, and the latest technology incorporated into the hardware.

Our Take

We’re extremely excited by the prospect of PS VR2 and its capabilities. VR is seeing a huge boost in the industry at the moment and the more mainstream it becomes, the more quality software we’ll see for it.
