Rumors are swirling yet again about a possible Twisted Metal reboot for the PlayStation 5. According to a report by VGC, a new installment in the legendary franchise is in early-development at Lucid Games (Destruction All-Stars).
VGC sources state that the game will likely be positioned as free-to-play likely to avoid the pitfalls that occurred with the launch of Destruction All-Stars. The game will reportedly align with a new TV-series that is also in early production and slated for 2023. Whether a new Twisted Metal game can be fully developed in that amount of time certainly makes us skeptical.
