One of the largest areas of speculation for titles as we move towards the PS5 and Xbox Series X has been the capabilities for additional graphics and framerate options including native 4K and/or 60fps modes. There’s been a lot of misinformation shared lately which is why we generally steer clear of commenting. Thankfully, Insomniac Games themselves provided an update on Spider-Man Miles Morales this morning.
The launch title for the PS5 will feature an optional performance mode that will target 4K / 60fps. Presumably that means there will be a lower framerate option for those that want all the graphics effects turned up to the maximum. Regardless, it’s great to hear that 60fps will be an option for the title.

Our Take
One aspect of next-gen we’ve spoken out broadly about, is giving console gamers more framerate and graphical options similar to PC. With the PS5 and Xbox Series X essentially being powerful, optimized PCs, give players more options!
