Nintendo Announces a New Switch Lite Color “Coral”

The Switch Lite has been a big success for Nintendo as expected, with sales continuing to be strong and a recent report that 40% of Lite owners already own a base Switch.

As we’ve seen Nintendo do in the past, it seems they are going to continue releasing color variations for their hardware. A fourth color is on the way for the Switch Lite titled “Coral”.

Coral Lite

The announcement was made by the official Japanese Nintendo account with the Coral Lite releasing on March 20th. Though at this moment, we’re unsure as to when it will be releasing in other regions.

Update: Nintendo of America has confirmed the Coral Lite arrives in the US on April 3rd.

Our Take

Releasing new SKUs in color or design variations is a proven way to increase sales and nobody does it better than Nintendo. With the Switch Lite taking the place of the 3DS, this simply makes sense and will certainly provide a small boost along side the Animal Crossing New Horizons Switch. We will keep you up to date as to when the Coral Lite may become available in other regions!
