State of Decay 2 : Juggernaut Edition Brings New Content, Launching on Steam with Cross-Platform Play

Juggernaut

Undead Labs is continuing to refine the State of Decay 2 experience and will soon launch the “Juggernaut Edition” on March 13th. The Juggernaut Edition will introduce many improvements to State of Decay 2 including new weapons, a new map, a new tutorial, graphical improvements, and more.

We created a brand-new open world map for players to explore in a rugged logging town named Providence Ridge, and we completely rebuilt the post-tutorial experience to better teach players the key facets of playing State of Decay 2.There’s also a new category of heavy melee weapons that reward player skill and timing, a wide range of graphical improvements(including better lighting and foliage optimization for better performance), and dodge and stealth are now split into separate commands as part of an improved control scheme.

We also fixed dozens of mission and gameplay bugs to ensure a better experience for all players, improved the audio experience, including additional music that doubles the total amount in the game, and more.

For the first time, the game will also be available on Steam and the Juggernaut Edition will also include all of the prior expansions to State of Decay 2 including the Independence Pack, Daybreak Pack, and State of Decay 2: Heartland.

Even better, for Game Pass subscribers or prior owners, the Juggernaut update will be completely free.

Our Take

State of Decay 2 launched in a relatively rough spot but over time, Undead Labs has turned it into a rather deep survival title with a load of content. We’re looking forward to the Juggernaut update and hope to see Undead Labs continue refining the title while hopefully working on a new installment that feels more AAA.
