Just as we shared the trailer for the upcoming Battle Royale mode for Modern Warfare yesterday, there have now been leaks of the mode itself along with a few details.
The mode is called Warzone and according to sources, will be a stand-alone title for download and play separate from Modern Warfare.
While the leaked image is all we have at this point in time, we’ve been told that the stand-alone title will take place in the Modern Warfare universe but be free to play and will launch later this month on February 26th. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
Our Take
If Activision gets serious with Call of Duty battle royale and introduces a Modern Warfare integrated free to play game that doesn’t require the base game, this could disrupt the market greatly. We’re very interested to see how this unfolds and will be following closely so stay tuned.
