Obsidian, like other studios recently acquired by Microsoft under the Xbox Game Studios umbrella, has been growing rapidly. The studio is now over 200 employees strong and according to position postings on LinkedIn, is working on an unannounced AAA RPG. The only features known at this point due to the listings are that it will have melee and ranged combat along with a day and night cycle.

Our Take
It goes without saying that the Xbox Game Studios are working on many new projects and it’s especially pleasing to hear that Obsidian is working on a AAA RPG as that is their bread and butter traditionally. We certainly can’t wait to see what’s in store.
