Square-Enix via the Tomb Raider Twitter account confirmed we will see the return of Lara Croft in 2018. Details are scarce other than a “major event” occurring in 2018 and the game being released shortly after it debuts.

Our Take
While we knew a new Tomb Raider was on the way, believed to be Shadow of the Tomb Raider, this is great to see formal confirmation that it’s not only coming but coming in 2018 as well. We’re huge fans of the new Tomb Raider games here at SG and can’t wait to see the full reveal.
Possibly tied to the movie, which is scheduled to premier 3/16/18…? Since this was just announced, I don’t want to get my hopes up that the game will come that early in 2018.
While I’d love it to come out in early 2018, there’s already some AAA titles arriving in the first quarter including Far Cry 5, Sea of Thieves, Monster Hunter World, Ni No Kuni 2, and possibly God of War as well. If I had to guess, I’d bet it’s one of the earlier titles next Fall around September.
