The Nintendo website was updated today with new information on the Switch Online service. In particular, the online app for IOS and Android will soon be available and it seems the first supported game will be Splatoon 2. According to Nintendo, it will give you access to “Splatnet 2” which will allow you to chat, send invites, and check stats within Splatoon 2. Our Take
We’ve commented before on Nintendo’s handling of the online services for their consoles and frankly, we still find it rather bizarre. As we’ve also said though, we hope Switch Online is more usable and robust than previous offerings. We’ll surely be testing out Splatnet 2 in a few weeks.
