This morning, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime announced that four new Zelda Amiibo figures would be released to celebrate Zelda’s 30th anniversary.
As shown above, they are 8-BIT Link, Link from Zelda OoT, and Link and Zelda from Wind Waker. According to Nintendo, each will have the same respective function as their Smash Brother counterparts, but will also have unique functionality for the upcoming The Legend of Zelda : Breath of the Wild. The figures will be released on Decmber 2nd.
Our Take
Amiibo have been hugely popular for Nintendo and Zelda speaks for itself. The combination of the 30th anniversary and a new core Zelda game means these should sell very well. Oh, and the 8-BIT link is awesome!
