Major Nelson officially unveiled some of the new features coming to Xbox Live in the next update. The list is quite broad and includes several features that Xbox Live players have been clamoring for. In particular:
- The ability to create a custom gamerpic for your profile.
- The ability to customize your news feed.
- The ability to enter tournaments directly from your console via Live Arena (World of Tanks seems to be game focused on at this time).
- The ability to further customize Clubs.
- The ability to use Looking for Group for specific goals like achievement hunting.

Our Take
Microsoft has developed a solid cadence of Live updates to improve the functionality for users. Custom gamerpics have long been requested, but they were always unlikely due to the potential for abuse (we’re not sure how MS solved that concern). Updates to the news feed, Clubs and LFG are also very welcome.
